洛阳桥
Luoyang Bridge
Aperçu
Luoyang Bridge is the oldest stone beam bridge in China, built in the 11th century across the Luoyang River estuary near Quanzhou. It is a pioneering work of engineering — an early example of bio-cementation, using oyster shells to reinforce the piers — and it has survived nearly a thousand years of tides.
The bridge is a long, low stone causeway with carved figures and a pavilion at its centre, and it remains a calm, atmospheric place to walk. The surrounding estuary, with its mangroves and fishing boats, adds to the sense of stepping back in time.
It is a quieter complement to Quanzhou's busier sights and a must for anyone interested in engineering or history. Combine it with the old town and Kaiyuan Temple for a full picture of Quanzhou's importance.
Mon avis sincère
Y aller
The bridge is about 30 minutes north of Quanzhou by bus or taxi. Local buses run from the city to Luoyang Town, and a taxi or ride-hail is straightforward. The site is open and easy to explore independently, with the bridge a short walk from the roadside.

Itinéraire conseillé
Walk the length of the bridge, pausing at the central pavilion and the carved stone figures, and take in the estuary views. Then return to Quanzhou to explore the old town, or combine the bridge with the nearby Hui'an fishing villages for a fuller day out.
Où loger
There is little reason to stay at the bridge itself — it is a short trip from Quanzhou, where the old town offers the best range of hotels and guesthouses. Visit Luoyang Bridge as a half-day excursion from a Quanzhou base.
