大熊猫基地
Chengdu Panda Research Base
概要
The Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding is the premier place on earth to see giant pandas, and the rare red panda, up close. Set in forested parkland on the city's northern edge, it houses more than a hundred pandas in spacious, naturalistic enclosures, plus the nursery where cubs are raised.
Pandas are most active in the morning, especially during feeding time, so the classic visit is an early one: arrive at opening and follow the loop past the enclosures while the pandas are awake and eating bamboo. By midday most of them are asleep.
It is a conservation and research centre first and foremost, so expect informative displays alongside the adorable animals. The cub nursery is the emotional highlight for most visitors.

アクセス
Take the metro to Panda Avenue station and use the short shuttle, or catch a direct tourist bus from central Chengdu. Taxis and ride-hailing are easy and reasonably priced from the city centre (about 30 minutes). Avoid the touts outside the metro who offer overpriced "guides".

おすすめルート
Arrive at opening and walk straight to the adult panda enclosures while they are feeding, then visit the cub nursery (the highlight), loop through the red panda area, and finish with the museum. The shuttle cart is useful to reach the far enclosures quickly. Three hours is about right.
宿泊先
The base is a half-day trip, so most visitors stay in central Chengdu. The Kuanzhai Alley and Chunxi Road areas offer the best food and transport links. Staying near the north of the city shortens your trip slightly but adds little else.
